BANGALORE: Corps of Military Police swamped Bharath Earth Movers Limited 10-0 in the State ‘B’ division hockey tournament here on Monday. Kamal Horo (6th & 9th), Manoj Tirkey (15th & 26th), SK Minj (19th & 39th), Gita Ranjeeth Singh (29th & 41st) logged a brace each and Kalyan Guria (21st) and Achappa (47th) scored one apiece for the winner. In another match Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited and Vasu Sports Club played out a 3-3 draw. Praful Kujur (8th), Diwakar (21st) and Bepari (40th) scored for BSNL with the second goal coming off a penalty stroke. Praveen (13th & 15th) notched up a double and Pramod (58th) scored off a penalty corner for Vasu Sports Club. In a third fixture Hassan Hockey club and Hindustan Machine Tools played out a 4-4 draw. Dhanvanth (5th & 54th) and Vijay Kumar (16th and 36th) scored for Hassan HC and Sanath Kumar (12th), Sukumar (19th) , Asif Sharif (21st) and Ravi (58th) scored for HMT. Parappa Memorial Trophy at the Sree Kanteerava stadium courts here on Monday. The bankmen led 38-17 lead at half time. With an all-win record the bankmen and MEG will clash for the title on November 15. BEL pips Naveen HCBEL Colony Youth Association ‘C’ prevailed over Naveen Hockey Club 4-2 via tie-breaker in the BCYA’s State-level hockey tournament here on Monday. At full-time, both the teams were tied 1-1 with Srikanth scoring in the fourth minute for BCYA and Prabhu equalising for Naveen HC in the 29th minute. In the tie-breaker, Samapth, Giridhar and Ajit Kumar struck for BCYA while, Naveen HC’s lone strike came through Ajit Kumar. In another tie, East India HC drubbed BCYA ‘B’ 5-0. All the goals came in the first half with scorers being Samson, Deepak, Thirumalavan, Richie and Karuna. Bhaskar shinesB.
