Ieng Sary PHNOM PENH (Cambodia): The Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) here on Monday charged Ieng Sary, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the former Democratic Kampuchea (DK) with war crimes and crimes against humanity, said an ECCC official. Meanwhile, his wife Ieng Thirith, former Social Affairs Minister of DK, was charged with crime against humanity, said ECCC spokesman Reach Sambath. The court detained Ieng Sary (78), and his wife (75), on Monday morning. His deputies Nuon Chea and Duch, were arrested by the tribunal months ago. — Xinhua
