Vinoth, Sudesh shine for St. Peter’s CC

Dindigul: K. Vinoth Kumar’s 104 (55b, 9x6, 6x4) and a five-wicket haul by medium-pacer Sudesh helped St. Peter’s Cricket Club (Kodaikanal) register an emphatic 201-run victory over Majestic Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-Dindigul District Cricket Association first division league at the GTN ground here on Sunday.

St. Peters CC 331 for seven in 45 overs (N. Venkataraman 55, K. Sundarajan 45, K. Vinoth Kumar 104, R. Karthik 78 not out, Paul three for 73, R. Ganesh three for 24) bt Majestic CC 130 in 28.3 overs (R. Sudesh five for 41).

Good knock by Ramesh

An unbeaten 85 by Ramesh Babu and his 137-run sixth-wicket partnership with Charles (70) helped Eleven Stars Cricket Club register a 95-run win over Crescent Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-Madurai District Cricket Association first division ‘B’ zone league at Madurai on Sunday.

The scores: ‘B’ zone: Eleven Stars CC 297 for eight in 47 overs (Venkatesh 43, Charles 70, Ramesh Babu 85 not out, Kumar three for 52) bt Crescent CC 202 in 40.3 overs (Kumar 44, Marikani four for 30, Suresh three for 35).

‘A’ zone: SBOA CC 165 in 45.2 overs (Sivaraman 72) bt Pykara CC 95 in 29.4 overs (Sikkander four for 29).

Easy for Chinnamanur

Chinnamanur Cricket Club beat Ananda Textiles Cricket Club (Theni) by eight wickets in the Canara Bank-Theni District Cricket Association first division league at the Krishna Iyer School ground in Chinnamanur on Sunday.

The scores:

Ananda Textiles CC 87 in 18.3 overs (Saravanan three for 17, Pushparaj three for 27, Silambarasan three for 14) lost to Chinnamanur CC 90 for two in 12.5 overs (Pushparaj 54 not out).

Sun SC posts win

At Dindigul, Sun Sports Club recorded a 2-0 win over Royaal Football Club (Batlagundu) in the Dindigul District Football Association ‘A’ division league, for the SPD Tools Trophy, on Sunday.

Rajkumar and Sankar scored for Sun SC.
