Security arrangements

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The police have made elaborate security arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony to be held on Monday. Nearly 2,000 police personnel, including 25 platoons of Karnataka State Reserve Police’s Striking Force, will be deployed at the venue.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) B.N.S. Reddy told The Hindu that security cover will be provided to top BJP leaders L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. The police have taken precautionary measures to ensure that the ceremony goes off smoothly.

The police have barred movement of vehicles on Ambedkar Veedhi (adjoining the eastern gate of Vidhana Soudha) between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
