Mysore: The South Zone inter-varsity tennis tournament for men 2007-08 will start at the SJCE tennis complex, Mysore on Monday. As many as 37 universities will be seen in action in the five-day tournament. Defending champion Osmania University (Hyderabad), runner-up Anna University (Chennai), two semifinalists, Bangalore University and Madras University, have been seeded and will begin their campaign from the quarterfinals. The matches will be played at three venues, SJCE tennis complex, Gangothri and Maharaja’s College tennis courts. The tournament will be played on a knockout format, and the top four teams from South Zone will qualify for the all-India inter-university championships.
