BANGALORE: Sports School (Kudige) defeated Vasu Sports Club (Hubli) 4-3 in the State ‘B’ division league hockey tournament here on Sunday. Guruprasad (11th & 56th) and Kavin (20th & 54th) scored twice each for the winner, while Praveen (fifth), Mithun (39th) and Maruthi (44th) scored for the loser. Hassan Hockey Club also scored a 4-3 victory over Rainbow Hockey Club with Vijay Kumar (third), Dinesh Kumar (ninth), Madhu (27th) and Pawan Kumar (36th) doing the scoring. Ameen Fazal (22nd & 25th) and Manohar Katige (50th) scored for Rainbow. In another match, Rangers beat Bombers 7-1 with Gerard Dennis (fifth, 17th, 43rd and 47th) in fine form. Mario Dennis (fourth), Shahnawaz (20th) and Thomas (34th) also scored. Sharath (59th) scored Bombers’ consolation goal. — Special Correspondent
