Speculation over the appointment of Indian test cricket captain has ended with spinning wizard Anil Kumble bagging the post, much to the delight of cricket fans across India. Test cricket certainly needs an experienced captain. After the exit of Rahul Dravid, and Sachin Tendulkar’s ‘no’ to donning the mantle, it was widely believed that M.S. Dhoni would be given the responsibility. The selectors deserve to be commended for choosing Kumble for the post. We hope, under his stewardship, the team will grow from strength to strength to capture its glory. R. Giridharan, Bangalore R.M. Manoharan, Chennai
