Sahajasri to represent India

HYDERABAD: Ch. Sahajasri, a 12-year-old prodigy from Karimnagar, will be representing India in the World Youth chess championship in Turkey from November 17 to 29, according to M. Anjaiah, President of Karimnagar District Chess Association which felicitated the talented youngster on Saturday.

A student of Paramita High School (Karimnagar), Sahajasri has won three gold last year in international meets — World age group (under-10) in Georgia, Asian youth (under-10) in Teheran and Commonwealth championship (under-10). Coached by A. Kumar and Shiva Kumar, Sahajasri hopes to do well this time around. “I am keen to improve upon my fifth place in the Asian championship in Dubai recently,” she said. — Principal Correspondent
