Hindustani music programme

MANGALORE: Those who love Hindustani music have much to look forward to on Sunday. Musicians such as Arati Anklikar of Mumbai and the Gundecha brothers of Bhopal (vocal-Dhrupad) will perform at the Town Hall from 9 a.m.

Bhairav Kalyan Utsav is being organised by Sangeet Bharati Foundation as part of a series called Swara Laya Yatra being held on five Sundays.

Ms. Anklikar will perform from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by flute recital by Godkhindi (11.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m.).

In the post-lunch session, Pt. Upendra Bhat of Pune will present a vocal recital from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sandeep Chatterjee of Kolkota will present a Santoor recital from 4.15 to 6.15 p.m.

The famed Gundecha brothers will take the centre stage at 6.30 p.m.
