Coimbatore: Collector Neeraj Mittal has announced that in addition to the routine allocation of 313 tonnes of wheat for distribution to the family card holders under the Public Distribution System (PDS), the State Government has allocated additional 200 tonnes of wheat in view of the Deepavali festival. The additional allocation is for the month of November and the card holders could avail it. The Collector said that in addition to wheat, the PDS outlets had been provided with adequate stock of rice, sugar, kerosene, palm oil besides flour and different varieties of grams. The cardholders could avail the commodities from the outlets on all days. In case of any difficulties in getting the items, the public have been requested to inform the supply authorities. KeroseneIn view of the Deepavali festival, the State Government has announced additional kerosene under the PDS system for the family card holders. Card holders in urban areas such as district headquarters, municipality and town panchayat would get additional one litre while those in villages would get two litres. The additional quota could be availed before November 30 along with the monthly quota.
