Tuition fee received

Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra University which has given admission to many foreign students during this academic year started receiving the tuition fee. A cheque for 1.5 lakh US dollars was handed over by the Ethiopian Embassy to Andhra University towards tuition fee for about 50 students of the country.

Vice-Chancellor L. Venugopal Reddy handed over the cheque to Registrar P. Vijaya Prakash on Thursday. He pointed out that the initiatives taken and rigorous planning done by the university had resulted in admitting a record number of international students and NRIs during this academic year.

This should prompt the university to take steps to admit more foreign students and NRIs in future, he said. An amount of Rs.80 lakhs was paid by NRIs towards tuition fee. Prof. Reddy congratulated Advisor International Students Affairs M. Jaganandha Rao and others concerned.
