Timothy, Vijayan triumph

Thiruvananthapuram: Rynold Timothy and Parvathy Vijayan won the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively in the 64th Trivandrum Open tennis championship which concluded here on Friday.

Rynold Timothy also won the men’s doubles title partnering K. Vijayakumar and completed a double in the tournament.

In the singles final, Rynold packed off G. Chandu 6-3, 6-2. Parvathy scored an easy 6-1, 6-4 over Nisha to win the women’s crown.

The results (all finals): Singles: Men: Rynold Timohty bt G. Chandu 6-3, 6-2. Doubles: Rynold Timothy/ K. Vijayakumar bt Binu Mani/ Binoj Mani 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. Boys: Singles: U-12: Arjuna Ajaykumar bt Varun Nair 9-3. U-14 (Doubles): Arun Raj/ Mohammed Hamraz bt S.V. Kiran/ Sachin Vinoth 9-1.
