NEW DELHI: Government Senior Secondary School, Gurgaon, defeated St. Ignatius High School, Gumla, 14-0 in the boys’ super league match of the Nehru hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium here on Friday. The Gurgaon team scored 13 goals in the second half. Naveen Kumar was the top scorer with four goals but Sandeep Kumar scored all his three goals in a row. The other scorers were Amit (2), Kuldeep (2), Pankaj, Rohit Malik and Naresh. In another match, Bangladesh Krira Shiksa Protisthan, Dhaka, wasted a one-goal lead to draw with Army Boys Sports Coy MEG & Centre, Bangalore. Toposh Burman put the Dhaka team ahead in the 41st minute but Bipin Mickmy Ekka equalised in the 57th minute. Lyallpur Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar overcame Indira Priyadarshani Higher Secondary School, Bhopal 4-2 in a super league encounter. Affan Yousaf put the Bhopal team in the lead but Simranjit Singh (2), Jagdeep Singh and Gurpreet Singh sealed the contest for the Jalandhar school. Amer Rehman was the other scorer for Indira Priyadarshani School. Government Senior Secondary School, Jarkhar, Ludhiana defeated Loyola English High School, Nagaon, Assam 4-1 after trailing at the half time. M. Bronson Singh put Nagaon ahead in the 10th minute while Ludhiana hit back through Deepak Kumar (2), Bhupinder Singh and Gagandeep.
