ISO 9000 is related to ‘Quality Management ‘and says, what the organization does to enhance the customer satisfaction by interacting with the customer and suitable regulatory requirement, repeatedly to improve its performance in this regard.
ISO 14000 is primarily concerned with ‘Environmental Management’. It says all about the organization does to minimize harmful effects on the environment caused by its activities, and continually to improve its environmental performance.
The majority of ISO standards are specific to a particular product, material or process. However, the standards that have earned the ISO9000 & 14000, families a world wide reputation, are called as ‘Generic Management System Standards’. ‘Generic’ means, the same standards can be applied to any organization, weather it is small or large, whatever be its product including services, in any sector of activity, and whether it is a business , a public administration, or a government department
