VIJAYAWADA: Host Acharya Nagarjuna University won the South-West Zone inter-university men’s handball tournament defeating Kakatiya 16-13 in the final league match at the ANU campus at Guntur on Sunday. Osmania took the second spot beating Calicut 20-17, while Warangal’s Kakatiya and Calicut finished third and fourth respectively. The results (league matches): ANU bt Kakatiya 16-13; Osmania bt Calicut 20-17. Thiruvalluvar posts winVellore’s Thiruvalluvar University scored a two-point win over North Maharasthra 15-13 in the knock-out fixtures of the South-West Zone inter-university women’s handball at Guntur on Sunday.
