HYDERABAD: A State-level convention of junior advocates here on Saturday has urged the Central and State Governments to pay them a monthly stipend of Rs. 3,000 for a period of five years on enrolment.
This was among the six resolutions adopted at the convention which was organised by the State committee of All-India Lawyers Union.
The convention demanded that the State Government issue orders to nationalised banks to extend financial assistance to junior advocates for establishing personal libraries and furnished offices. The amount released from Advocates Welfare Fund for families of deceased advocates should be hiked from Rs. 2 lakh to 5 lakh. The ceiling on medical claims should also be enhanced from Rs. 40,000 to 1 lakh.
