Plea to promote teachers in ad hoc service

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union has demanded promotions for teachers who are in ad hoc service, before appointing school assistants, grade I language pundits and physical education teachers. These appointments are to be made on November 19.

In a statement issued here, P. Venkat Reddy, president, and V. Ravikiran, general secretary, said that justice would be rendered if promotions were given to teachers who were in ad hoc service. Besides, promoting them would also ensure that they don’t become juniors in service, he said.
