KOCHI: Former State champion, Ernakulam’s Thomas Kurien will meet district-mate Joy T. Antony in the men’s final of the 38th Seshasayee all-Kerala badminton tournament on Sunday evening. In the semifinals today, the top-seeded Thomas defeated Alwin Francis while the fourth-seeded Joy upset second seed Sanave Thomas. The women’s final will be a clash between Kozhikode’s Aparna Balan and Thrissur’s Nima Lakshmi. The results (semifinals): Men’s singles: Thomas Kurien (Ekm) bt Alwin Francis (Ekm) 21-8, 21-8; Joy T. Antony (Ekm) bt Sanave Thomas (Ekm) 21-18, 21-5. Doubles: Rupesh Kumar-Sanave Thomas (Ekm) bt Joy Antony-George Thomas (Ekm) 21-8, 21-12; Thomas Kurien-V.
