Criminal shot dead

Basti: A wanted criminal was gunned down by police in an encounter in Ganehspur village of the district on Thursday. Shiv Kumar was wanted in five loot and several murders cases and was carrying a reward of Rs 2,500 on his head.

Superintendent of Police Anand Swarup told reporters. Kumar was an active member of Shiv Prasad Chowdhury’s gang, who was killed in an encounter recently.
