Plea for export zone

The Tamil Nadu Horticultural Crops Producers Association has appealed to the Centre to establish a banana and flower export zone in Tiruchi. District farmers, engaged in banana cultivation and floriculture, have not able to get remunerative prices for their produce. Hence, an export zone is essential, association president A. Nagarajan said in a memorandum submitted to Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh.
