DUBAI: New Delhi Television (NDTV) has launched NDTV Arabia, a 24-hour free-to-air channel that will mainly cater to the growing expatriate market in West Asia and North Africa.
NDTV chairman Prannoy Roy said at a press conference on Tuesday that expatriates, mainly from the sub-continent, comprised nearly 31per cent of the Gulf’s total population and 56 per cent of its workforce. This rapidly expanding population segment needed a “quality localised infotainment” channel.
NDTV Arabia would focus on news, current affairs, talk shows, as well as investment and finance programmes he said.
