VISAKHAPATNAM: South Zone scored an emphatic 151-run win over Central Zone in a round-robin match of the Andhra Cricket Association’s women under-19 inter-zone tournament at the ACA-VDCA Stadium here on Monday. After Monica Sai and Radha scored half-centuries to help South score 204 for six, left-arm spinner Silpa picked up four wickets for 12 runs and Salma Banu and Rajita claimed two each to dismiss Central for 53. In another match Central defeated North by nine wickets. Off-spinner K. Sowmya took four wickets for three and was responsible for North being restricted to 124. Then S. Rama Devi (65) and G. Dhanalakshmi (15) added 70 runs for an unbeaten second-wicket stand to help Central reach the target in 24 overs. The scores: South Zone 204 for six in 50 overs (Monica Sai 68, Radha 50, Rameswari 26) bt Central Zone 53 in 28.4 overs (Silpa four for 12). North Zone 124 for seven in 50 overs (S. Kavita 27, K. Sowmya four for 3) lost to Central Zone 125 for one in 24 overs (S. Ramadevi 65 n.o.). — Special Correspondent
