Big win for N. Railway

HYDERABAD: Northern Railway scored an emphatic 8-1 win over Railway Protection Special Force in the preliminary round of the 14th all-India RFP hockey championship at Railway Grounds hereon Monday.

The results: South East Central Railway drew with SE Railway 0-0; Northern Railway 8 (Mohanlal 2, Manjeet Singh 2, Govind Singh 3, Parusuram 1) bt RPSF 1 (P. Suraj).

Southern Railway 7 (U.R.P. Raja 3, K.D. Raj 2, S. Shankar 2) bt West Central Railway 2 (Inderpal 1, Dinesh 1); Central Railway 2 (M. Khan 1, P. Gawai 1) bt SCR 1 (Md. Safiuddin).
