Naidu goes on a ‘promise spree’ at road shows to lure people
GODAVARIKHANI (KARIMNAGAR Dt): TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday reiterated that they would reintroduce the Rs 2-a-kg rice scheme for white card holders if they are returned to power in the State.
Mr Naidu participated in road shows from Ramagundam railway station to Sultanabad towns covering Godavarikhani, Manthani, Centenary Colony and Peddapalli towns demanding a minimum support price of Rs 1,000 for paddy. The TDP district unit leaders mobilised people in large numbers for the road shows.
Several promises
Addressing an impressive road show at Godavarikhani coal belt industrial town, the TDP president made several promises to lure people. He said that they would construct houses free of cost for the eligible poor, increase pension amount to Rs 500 per month and distribute loans to farmers under the Pavala Vaddi scheme after attaining power.
Referring to the revival of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited by introducing reforms, he announced distribution of 25 per cent of gross profits of SCCL to the coal miners as bonus and health insurance scheme to cover the entire community of coal miners after attaining power.
TDP leaders Kadiam Srihari, Ch Sudhakar Rao, E Peddi Reddy, M Damodar Reddy, L Ramana and others were present.
