Woman’s charge against judge
Nagpur: A lower court judge has been accused of outraging the modesty of a law graduate in his chamber here on Thursday. A complaint against him has been made to the Senior Administrative Judge of the Nagpur Bench of Mumbai High Court, Justice Dilip Sinha, as also to the District Judge, T.B. Nalawade.
According to sources, the incident took place in the judge’s chamber on the district court premises, when the young law graduate went there to meet him with one of her senior colleagues, Prakash Thombre, a former lower court judge. Soon after coming out of the chamber, the woman accused the judge of outraging her modesty and approached a local woman’s organisation, Bharatiya Stree Shakti, and Social Security Committee and, through them, met Justice Sinha.
He assured her that he would forward the documents to the High Court.
Advocate Padma Chandekar, ex-secretary and Executive Committee Member of Vidarbha Lady Lawyers’ Association, said they had taken up the issue and met Justice Sinha and sought action against the judge concerned. — PTI
