Elephant shot dead

MALAPPURAM: An elephant was found dead in a private plantation within the Karulai forest range on Sunday morning. Forest officials said the elephant was about five years old and was shot a few inches above its ear. The case was reported at Thamipetti within the Padukka forest station limit. — Staff Reporter
