Three killed

MADURAI: Three women were killed and 16 others injured when two vans collided head-on at Kottampatti in the district early on Thursday.

A van from Madurai was proceeding to Thirukattupalli when another van that came in the opposite direction collided. While P. Meenakshi (35), S. Vairamuthu (60) and S. Lakshmi alias Mohanachi (60) died on the spot, 16 others, including 6 women suffered injuries. The condition of two victims is critical.
