Clean sweep by AP

DEHRADUN: Andhra Pradesh dominated the show as it swept all the titles on offer in the 21st National sub-junior badminton championship at the Parade Ground badminton hall here on Tuesday.

The championship’s conclusion was marred as nearly a dozen players were found guilty of hiding their actual age. Many of them were debarred from the championship following a medical test to ascertain their age. Rohit Yadav emerged the winner in the boys’ under-13 final after the other finalist B. Sai Ram was barred from contesting the match.

The results (finals):

Boys: U-16: B. Sai Praneeth bt Sameer Verma 21-5, 21-13; U-13: Rohit Yadav w.o. B. Sai Ram.

Girls: U-16: N. Siki Reddy bt Prajakta Sawant 21-9, 21-16; U-13: P.V. Sindhu bt Manisha 21-9, 21-9.
