Thiruvananthapuram: Two persons were killed and nine injured when a portion of a 12-foot wall collapsed in heavy rain at Nedumangadu on Tuesday evening. The police identified the deceased as Krishnan Nair, 50, who ran a wayside eatery on the pavement beside the wall, and a customer of his shop, Hakim, 40. Police said Hakim taught at the Vocational Higher Secondary School near Kallara. Circle Inspector (Nedumangadu) Muhammad Shafi said the top portion of the wall of the Nedumangadu Lower Primary school collapsed on the pavement around 3.45 p.m. He said crash coincided with a loud clap of thunder. The police and people in the area rushed the injured to the Medical College Hospital here. He said that three women were among those injured in the accident.
