MUMBAI: Central Excise & Customs (Kochi), spearheaded by Subhash Shenoy (28 points) and Sunny Thomas (20), defeated Tamil Nadu Basketball Association (TNBA) 92-65 in the opening Group B league match at the United Phosphorous Ltd. all-India Ramu Memorial Basketball tournament on Sunday night.
The former took charge from the start and was up 22-18 in the first quarter at the Indian Gymkhana courts, Matunga. Anbu Kumar top-scored for TNBA (19) with three three-pointers, Parthiban chipped in with 14 points, including two three-pointers. The tournament is organised by Indian Gymkhana and co-sponsored by Reliance Mutual Fund.
