Sonnet wins title

NEW DELHI: Manan Sharma and Sahil Kher powered Sonnet Club to a nine-wicket win over Young Association in the final of the 17th Shahid Bhagat Singh memorial cricket tournament at the Nehru Stadium here.

The champion team bagged Rs. 20,000, while the runner-up got Rs.15,000.

The scores:

Young Association 167 for nine in 35 overs (Amar Singh 60) lost to Sonnet CC 168 for one in 24.3 overs (Manan Sharma 80, Sahil Kher 69 not out).

Special awards:

Man of the Match: Manan Sharma; Man of the Tournament: Sachin Rana; Best Batsman: Manan Sharma; Best Bowler: Yogesh Nagar.
