KOCHI: Shiaz’s all-round performance (41 and four for 19) helped Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, defeat Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Vaduthala) by 57 runs and enter the semifinals of the 21st Refinian Cup inter-school cricket tournament at the BPCL Kochi Refinery ground, Ambalamugal, on Monday.
In another match, host Cochin Refineries School ‘A’, riding on Mithun’s four-wicket haul, defeated Kasthurba EMS by 73 runs and entered the quarterfinals.

BVM, Elamakkara 134 for six in 20 overs (Vikas 41, Shiaz 41, Prathik three for 21) bt Chinmaya, Vaduthala 77 in 16.3 overs (Shiaz four for 19, Narayanan three for 20).
Cochin Refineries ‘A’ 170 for six in 20 overs (D.R. Arun 43, Jyothish 36, Kailash 34) bt Kasthurba 97 in 16.5 overs (Vishnu 43, Mithun four for 6, Kailash three for 13).
