NOIDA: Top amateur Simarjeet Singh steered the defending champion Noida Golf Club (NGC) in to the all-Indian finals in the 6th McDowell’s Signature Club golf championship at the home course here on Monday.
In the northern zone regional finals, Noida edged out eight other clubs with a tally of 137 points and booked a ticket to Thailand, where the final will be staged.
The NGC has made it to the final for the third straight time after having won the event in 2005 and 2006.
The winning team of NGC comprised, Simarjeet, Rakesh Sharma, Mukesh Gandhi, Ashna Monga, Raminder Singh and P. N. Malhotra. The team of Goldern Greens, which included Sahil Sharma, Amit Luthra, Simon Park, Rajiv Sagar, Moow Soon Kim and See Yeow Lee, finished second with 134 points.
