Lornah Kiplagat sets World record

UDINE (Italy): Kenya-born Lornah Kiplagat, representing the Netherlands, set a half-marathon World record on Sunday while defending her title at the World road running championships here.

The results: Men: 1. Zersenay Tadese (Eritrea, 58min, 59s; 2. Patrick Makau Musyoki (Kenya, 59:02); 3. Evans Kiprop Cheruiyot (Kenya, 59:05). Women: 1. Lornah Kiplagat (Ned, 1:06:25); 2. Mary Jepkosgei Keitany (Ken, 1:06:48); 3. Pamela Chepchumba (Ken, 1:08:06). — AP
