KOCHI: India’s Narain Karthikeyan set some fast times at the A1 Grand Prix in the Czech Republic on Sunday and earned two points for finishing ninth in the feature race at Brno, the second round of the championship. It was the 30-year-old’s best finish this season. The Williams F1 test driver came close to setting the fast lap timings, and the two points that came with them, in both the sprint and feature races but narrowly lost the honour to New Zealand’s Jonny Reid and China’s Cheng Cong Fu. He was second fastest in both. Narain had finished a disappointing 21st in the 10-lap sprint race but recovered nicely in the 38-lap feature race. A1 Team India now has a total of three points from two rounds. Reid won both the sprint and feature races on Sunday.
