Villagers fall sick

Special Correspondent

CUDDALORE: Over 30 residents of Kudikadu near here took ill in the past two days.

The villagers developed high temperature and vomiting sensation. It was alleged that the sickness was owing to untreated effluents being let out in the open from a chemical unit in the SIPCOT Industrial Estate here. Eight of them have been admitted as in-patients in the Cuddalore government hospital. Others have been either treated as out-patients or admitted to private hospitals for treatment.
