TIRUPUR: Food Minister E.V. Velu on Saturday said the Tamil Nadu Government has issued an order to give new family cards in 60 days from the receipt of application.
“Officials should process the applications and issue family cards in 60 days time. If they are rejecting an application due to discrepancies the officials should inform the applicant the reason for rejection,” he said while speaking after distributing family cards at a function on Taluk office campus here.
Mr. Velu said the Government had decentralised printing of family cards at district-level to avoid delays.
He said submission of applications to various authorities by a single applicant was leading to confusion in issuing new cards and resulting in large number of rejection.
