CHENNAI: Governor Surjit Singh Barnala inaugurated here on Saturday an exhibition of handicraft, paintings and several other artefacts, organised by the IPS Officers’ Wives Association.

Later, he went round the stalls. The exhibition, held at Lalit Kala Academy, Greams Road, is meant to provide the members with a fun platform and fund the association’s charity projects. The wives of constables displayed the items made by them.

A stall to display palm leaf and plantain leaf products was put up by tribals of Shenbagathope in the Javadh Hills where Srinivasan Services Trust is working with the Department of Anthropology of the University of Madras for the uplift of the tribals.
