A close shave

Such things never happen frequently. Aviation turbine fuel is known for being an expensive product and allowing it to go down the drain is surely a not-so-frequent incident to occur. And the airport authorities were not even aware of it! While thankfully no untoward incident took place, the officials rather belatedly, realised that the residents of Bhagvanthpuram, where the aviation turbine fuel got leaked, were virtually sitting on a tinderbox, waiting to explode into an inferno.

The drains are also designed in such a way that anybody can just crawl, thus gaining entry into a highly restricted zone. The incident also raises a question over safety measures.
