GULBARGA: Gulbarga will host the ITF Futures tennis tournament at the Chandrasekhar Patil Stadium complex here from October 22 to 28. A total of 41 entries, both from India and abroad, have been received so far. The highest-ranked player in the fray is the 334th-ranked Pavol Cervenak. The Indian challenge will come from Sunil Kumar, Divij Sharan, Ashutosh Singh and Vijay Kannan. Three synthetic courts at the venue are being re-laid to international standards. The Gulbarga leg will be preceded by a $15,000 event at Bellary from October 15 to 19. The qualifying matches will be held on October 13 and 14 and the main draw from Monday. It is the first time Bellary will be hosting an international tennis tournament.
