Southern Railway responds

CHENNAI: Two direct train services and one connecting service are operated to Chennai Beach from Avadi between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m, a Southern Railway release said.

In response to a news item published in these columns on October 4, the railway said train number ADB Spl. leaves Avadi at 7.40 a.m. with effect from September 1 and train number 182 leaves Ambattur at 7.27 a.m.

The departure of train service from Anna Nagar to Chennai Beach has also been revised to leave Ambattur at 7.10 a.m. There are three trains to Chennai Beach station between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

There are two services, ADB8 and ADB10, from Avadi at 8.10 a.m. and 8.40 a.m. . Another train service, ADB Spl., from Avadi at 7.40 a.m. has also been introduced. There are two trains to Moore Market Complex leaving Annanur at 7.44 a.m. and 7.53 a.m. that would serve as a link to the train bound for Tiruvanmiyur at Park Town station.Southern Railway has also increased the number of services between Tambaram and Beach station after broad gauge conversion.
