Pension for aged poor soon: Minister

Jalandhar: After extension of rural employment scheme and launch of insurance of insurance for unorganised sector, a pension scheme for aged poor would be unveiled by the UPA government next month, Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes told reporters here on Tuesday.

UPA’s commitment

“It’s the commitment of the UPA government to launch welfare schemes for weaker sections of society and under the same programme National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme was extended to every district of the country and Aam Admi Bima Yojna was launched in Himachal Pradesh,” Mr. Fernandes said. — PTI
