FIVB course inaugurated

CHENNAI: The FIVB Level II volleyball coaches’ course was inaugurated at its Regional Development Centre by C.R. Visswanathan, President, Tamil Nadu Football Association, here on Monday.

Bulgaria’s Jivko Pavlov Jetchev, the Course Director, gave the inaugural address. K. Murugan, General Secretary, Volleyball Federation of India, welcomed the chief guest Visswanathan. Hans Friedrich Voigt of Germany is the course instructor.

Jetchev thanked Sri Lanka for having sent the maximum (five) participants for this course, and also for their regular participation in various courses being conducted by the Centre.

The course, with 22 participants from five countries — India 11, Nepal 3, Bhutan 1 and Bangladesh 2 — is being conducted for qualified coaches from different countries to learn and train National teams to obtain a high-level performance. The course concludes on October 13. — Sports Reporter
