Thumping win for St. George’s

CHENNAI: St. George’s defeated SDAT 5-2 in a Chennai Hockey Association first division league match at the SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Sunday. Nelson Burgoyne, Vimal Raj, Kevin Berlic (2) and Keith Berlic sounded the boards for St. George’s. Judon George and Murugan scored for SDAT.

Inter-school tournament

Chennai Football Association will conduct an inter-school tournament for boys (under-13 and 14) at St. Patrick’s AIHSS from October 7 to 9. Entries have to be sent to the Secretary, CFA, Room no. 73, Nehru Stadium, Chennai-3 on or before Oct. 5.

Prasanth, Devendar win

K.R. Prasanth (44 points) and Devendar (42 points) were the division I and II winners respectively in the Chakravarthy Trophy golf tournament at the Cosmo-TNGF Golf Course in Chennai. Rupa Gurunath (35 points, division I) and Arul Selvan (39 points, division II) were the runners-up.

Matches postponed

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s lower division league matches, scheduled for October 2, have been postponed due to inclement weather, according to a press release from the TNCA.
