Pension for freedom fighters enhanced

HYDERABAD: The State Government has enhanced pension for freedom fighters from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 per month under its scheme.

Orders (GO Ms 1254) enhancing pension were issued on Monday, a day ahead of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and they would come into force with immediate effect.

The order was issued in the light of representations received from freedom fighters and their associations as also the public representatives seeking enhancement of pension under State scheme on par with Central one.
