Ravi, Smitha win

MYSORE: B. Ravi of Sri Madeshwara First Grade College (Kollegal) won the 12km cross-country race for men clocking 43:49.00 seconds, while C. Smitha of Teresian College (Mysore), with a timing of 24:57.00s won the 6km race for women in the Mysore University inter-collegiate cross-country meet at Mandya on Monday.

Bharathi College (Bharathinagar) won the overall championship in the men’s section with 100 points. In the women’s category, Teresian College for Women (Mysore) took the overall title with 22 points.

The results: Men: 12km: 1. B. Ravi (Sri Madeshwara FGC, Kollegal) 43:49.00s; 2. M.K. Ravi (Shanthi College, Malavalli) 44:06.00; 3. A.S. Harish (Govt. FGC, KR Nagar) 44:18.00. Overall team championship: Bharathi College (Bharathinagar) 100 points.

Women: 6km: 1. C. Smitha (Teresian College, Mysore) 24:57.00s; 2. G.L. Sunitha (Marimallappa’s College) 25:02.00; 3. T.D. Soumya (Teresian College, Mysore) 25:51.00. Overall team championship: Teresian College for Women (Mysore) 22 points.
