St. Joseph’s wins title

CHENNAI: St. Joseph’s College of Engineering won the overall championship in men’s weightlifting in the Anna University inter-zonal competitions at the Sri Subramania Engineering College, Palani, recently.

In all, the college won five gold, two silver and one bronze.

The medal winners: Gold: A. Arun (56kg), M. Ramraj (62kg), P. Yoganand (85kg), G. Divya Seshadri (94kg), N. Kalaiarasan (105kg); Silver: J. Ranjith (105kg), V. Sathishkumar (Above-105kg); Bronze: S. Ramesh (77kg).

ASCA in lead

ASCA, with 77 points, was in the lead in the C2 division of the Sumeru Soft TNBSA city snooker league being held in the weekends. TNSC, with 71 points, is second.

Cricket tournament

Sri Ramachandra University will conduct the inter-collegiate staff cricket tournament for the Prof. Sarat Chandra Trophy from October 13. Entries close on October 6.
