Combined Districts takes honours

CHENNAI: Combined Districts defeated City by virtue of the first innings lead after wet conditions forced Friday’s play to be abandoned in the three-day TNCA under-17 cricket match for the N.R. Samiappa Mudaliar trophy.

Spinners I. Wahid Khan and Naresh Babu had, on Thursday, helped Districts secure a 52-run first innings lead. The return match will be played from October 3 at Puducherry.

The score:

Combined Districts 228 and 18 for two bt City 176, by virtue of the first innings lead.
