Sandeep and Joshna triumph

Mumbai: Sandeep Jangra and Joshna Chinappa won the men’s open and women’s titles in contrasting fashion at the 32nd Bombay Gymkhana Open Squash tournament here on Friday.

India’s number one player Joshna regained the crown by overwhelming Mumbai-based holder and second seed Mandy Kennedy of England 9-3, 9-5, 9-5.

Second seed Jangra of Maharashtra overcame a late surge from cousin and top seed Vikas Jangra of the Services to carve out a creditable 9-5, 9-2, 10-9 victory in a 50-minute men’s title-contest. — PTI
