Ammunition seized

CHENNAI: The CISF personnel seized 20 rounds of live ammunition from a Member of Parliament, Karur, at the Kamaraj domestic terminal on Friday.

The Airport police said the MP, K.C. Palanisamy, came to the airport around 11 a.m. and was on his way to board Air India Express to Tiruchi. When the CISF personnel checked his bag, it contained the ammunition used in .32 revolver.

However, Mr. Palanisamy informed the police that he would produce the weapon licence and then handed over the ammunition to the CISF authorities. The CISF authorities handed over the ammunition to the Airport police.
